Where do these web prices come from, and how often are they updated?
From chatgpt.com’s own checkout settings, read country by country in a normal browser. They are captured by hand rather than on a schedule — usually about once a month — and the date at the top of the page says when.
What is the difference between “Price you pay” and “Before tax”?
The price you pay includes VAT, GST or consumption tax; the before-tax price leaves it out. Where OpenAI gives only one of the two, the other is worked out from the tax rate (in every country where OpenAI gives both, that sum matches its own figure to the cent). In the US and Canada tax varies by state or province, so the price you pay is shown at the lowest rate. Countries where OpenAI gives no tax rate appear only under “Before tax”.
