1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using OpenTheRank ("the Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Site.

2. What the Site Publishes

OpenTheRank publishes regional price comparisons for informational purposes only. Prices are read from the storefront that sells each product in each country, and every source is listed on the data sources and status page along with the time each country's figures were last read. The catalogue covers AI subscriptions, streaming services, photo and video tools, productivity and education apps, social apps, mobile games, Steam and Nintendo eShop titles, and Apple hardware. The Site also publishes VPN rankings and AI model rankings, which draw on published benchmarks, independent audit reports, and public community sources rather than on storefront prices.

We do not accept payments, sponsorships, or affiliate commissions in exchange for a ranking, a position, or an inclusion. The Site does earn a commission on one partner link, described in section 5 of the privacy policy and disclosed under the tables it appears in; that arrangement buys no position in any ranking here. Orderings follow from the underlying figures, and where editorial judgement is involved it represents our opinion at a point in time and should not be treated as a definitive or exhaustive evaluation. 3. No Warranties

The information on this Site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any information.

A price shown here is a recorded observation of what a storefront displayed when it was last read. It is not a quote and not an offer. Prices, product features, and regional availability change without notice, stores run promotions and price tests, and currency movements affect the converted figures. Always verify a current price with the store or vendor before making a purchase decision.

4. Limitation of Liability

OpenTheRank and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, any information published on this Site. Any purchase you make, and any product or service you use, is solely at your own discretion and risk.

Whether a price observed in one country is available to you is governed entirely by the seller's own account, billing, and residency rules. The Site reports what things cost; it does not advise anyone to circumvent a seller's terms, and it cannot promise that any price will be available to any particular buyer.

5. Third-Party Links

This Site links to third-party websites, including the storefronts its figures are read from, so that any figure can be checked at its source. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of service of those sites. Links do not constitute an endorsement.

6. Intellectual Property

Subject to Section 9, all original content on this Site, including rankings methodology, editorial copy, and design, is the property of OpenTheRank. Third-party brand names and logos referenced in rankings remain the property of their respective owners and are used solely for identification purposes.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The date shown under the title above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

For questions about these Terms, about the data licence in section 9, or to report a figure you believe is wrong, write to support@opentherank.com. For a suspected error, naming the product and the country lets us check it against the storefront directly.

9. Data License

9.1 What is openly licensed. The datasets listed on our Open Data page, including the Global App Store Price Index files and every dated snapshot of them, are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). The licence covers only the rights OpenTheRank holds in those files, including any copyright in the selection and arrangement of the data and any database rights in the compilation. You may copy, redistribute, adapt and build on them for any purpose, including commercially.

9.2 How to credit us. Credit OpenTheRank, link to the dataset page where your medium allows links, name the licence, and say if you changed the data. Suggested credit: "Source: OpenTheRank Global App Store Price Index (snapshot YYYY-MM-DD), https://opentherank.com/open-data/app-price-index/, CC BY 4.0." For a single figure quoted in an article or post, "Source: OpenTheRank" with a link is enough.

9.3 What belongs to others. Prices are set by the stores and vendors that publish them. Product names, logos, icons and trademarks belong to their respective owners, and the store listings our figures are observed from remain subject to those owners' own terms. This licence grants no rights in that material and implies no affiliation with, or endorsement by, any store, vendor or brand.

9.4 Everything else. The rest of the Site — its design, code, editorial copy, methodology text, illustrations, icons, store artwork, screenshots, and the storefront snapshot files we keep as price evidence — is not licensed under CC BY 4.0 and remains subject to Section 6. Other compiled figures shown on the Site, such as price histories, recorded price changes and USD conversions, may be quoted or cited with attribution to OpenTheRank and a link to the page they came from; republishing or redistributing substantial portions of them requires our written permission.

9.5 Third-party reference data. Purchasing-power figures are derived from the International Monetary Fund's World Economic Outlook database (Source: International Monetary Fund, World Economic Outlook Database) and materially transformed by OpenTheRank. Exchange rates are provided by ExchangeRate-API for our own use and are not redistributed; our files state the date of the rates used.

9.6 Observations, not official pricing. Figures are recorded observations of public storefronts on the stated dates, not official pricing, and may be incomplete or wrong. Datasets are provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, as described in Sections 3 and 4 and in the licence. Verify current prices with the store or vendor before relying on them.

9.7 Corrections and questions. To report an error, request removal of material, or ask about a use this licence does not cover, write to support@opentherank.com.
