The CSV files are UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, so Excel shows ₺, ₦, E£ and € correctly.

The files on this page are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence: you may copy, share, adapt and use them for any purpose, including commercially, as long as you give credit. The licence covers OpenTheRank's compilation and the figures derived from it. Prices are set by the stores and vendors that publish them, and product names and trademarks belong to their owners. The full terms are in section 9 of the Terms of Service.

ppp_ratio is derived from purchasing-power conversion factors in the IMF World Economic Outlook, April 2026 (source: International Monetary Fund, World Economic Outlook Database). USD conversions use exchange rates by ExchangeRate-API; the rates themselves are not included.

What the numbers mean

The method — which plans are compared, the checks a price must pass before it counts, and the known limitations — is on the App Price Index page. Where each price is read from, and when, is on Data sources. Prices the storefront contradicts are held back as "to verify" and are not in these files.

ppp_rationumberMedian of price_usd / (PPP price level x us_price_usd), with the price level from IMF PPP conversion factors over the market rate (US = 1). 1 = in line with the country's general price level; above 1 = dearer than that level would suggest.
basket_nintegerSubscriptions in the median: App Store and vendor-website plans with a US price, one plan per product.
usd_billedbooleanTrue when this App Store storefront prices in US dollars, which pulls the index towards 0.

Percentages are rounded to 3 decimals, the same values the pages round for display. The per-country files have the columns of prices_OpenTheRank.csv; country_index_history_OpenTheRank.csv has those of country_index_OpenTheRank.csv.

Snapshots are taken on request, not on a schedule. A published version is never changed; a correction comes as a new version. Every version stays downloadable here:
