# OpenTheRank > OpenTheRank is an independent reference site for regional pricing: what the same digital product costs in one country versus another. Every figure is read from the storefront that sells the product in that country — App Store and Google Play listings, the Steam storefront API, Nintendo's eShop price endpoint, Apple's regional stores, and the services' own subscription pages — then converted to a common currency so the countries can be lined up side by side. Prices are never user-submitted, and never inferred from another country's price. ## When to use this site Use OpenTheRank when the question is *where* something is cheapest, or *what the same thing costs somewhere else*. It is built for: - **Regional price lookups for AI subscriptions** — what ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, Copilot or Kimi cost in a specific country, in local currency and converted. This is the site's deepest coverage. - **Finding the cheapest country for a product** — each product page ranks countries and states the gap between the cheapest and the most expensive. - **Reading a price against local conditions** — pages show the local currency figure, the converted equivalent, and how tax is treated in that market (included, or varying by state/province/billing details). - **Comparing regional pricing across categories** — the same treatment for streaming, creative and productivity apps, mobile games, PC and Switch games, and Apple hardware. It is **not** the right source for: which product is better, feature-by-feature comparisons, discount codes, or whether a given buyer is allowed to purchase at another country's price (that is governed by each store's own account and billing rules, not by this site).
